As part of Cathedral Wealth Management’s contribution to our local community in Chichester we always seek out the wonderful people willing to give their time, and in this case lots of stamina, raising money for good causes.
Our neighbour in business, Mark Hayman from AMAC Mortgages based in Hills Barn, Apuldram is taking on the huge challenge of ‘Chase the Sun’ which is a 205 mile bike ride from the east coast of the UK to the west coast of the UK…..In a day!…. Well within 17 hours to be precise. It kicks off on the longest day of the year (June 22nd 2019) at sun rise and the goal is to reach the finish before the sun sets!
Mark will be undertaking this challenge, along with his business partners and colleagues Andy McPherson, Neil Tarbet and Darren Crane to raise money for the Kings College Hospital Critical Care Unit.
This is the reason for Mark’s challenge… “Close friends of mine lost their daughter Katie a few years ago to a rare condition and she lost her fight shortly after her 18th birthday. This was the same age as my eldest son Elliott at the time and really hit home how precious and fragile life is”
Mark went on to say… Her parents Jared & Michelle continue to raise money for the Kings College Hospital Critical Care Unit and to date have raised in excess of £32,000 to help build/improve and add to this special unit that so tenderly looked after Katie in her last few weeks of life. They told me that to do something in Katie’s memory makes some ‘kind of sense’ for what happened and are always trying to find the positives in life, they really are an inspiration!
Mark’s just giving page has more details about the challenge and the motivation behind raising the funds, any donation amount would be amazing and make a huge difference.
