Supporting Dementia

I heard a very powerful statistic the other day, there are 850,000 people with dementia in the UK, and research provided by The Alzheimer’s Society predict this number to rise to over 1 million by 2025, and then to soar to 2 million by 2051.

Many people will be living with dementia or caring for loved ones at some point in their life.

The service we provide at Cathedral Wealth Management in Chichester, West Sussex, is no obligation financial advice, this can include advice on pension planning and investment planning, which means a great deal of our clients are in their latter years, this is why it is vital for our team to know and understand how to act around someone living with Dementia.

Wanting to know more, I came across a wonderful charity called Sage House based in Tangmere. They have just celebrated their first birthday, and already have plans to expand! They work in partnership with the NHS, West Sussex County Council and other voluntary and charitable organisations, and they bring all local dementia services under one roof.

From Memory Assessment Services, to Health and Wellbeing, Sage House Dementia Support has it all. Every part of the building from the ceiling tiles to the carpet, and the colour of the walls has been thought out to help someone who has dementia.

So, if you know someone who needs this service, pop in and see the team anytime, you can also help spread the awareness by becoming a Dementia Friend, a perfect way to support the cause.
