Part of the Cathedral Wealth Management ethos is to support our local Chichester community from business sponsorship to local charities and other fundraising initiatives. So when Jake Hurst from East Wittering Natural Surf School got in touch to tell his story, we were delighted.
The Natural Surf School has been running surf lessons since 2017, the only facility in the area that is dedicated just for surfing, and award winning, with the owner scooping up ‘Surf Coach of the Year 2018’ at the Wave Projects awards.
Jake and Emile from The Natural Surf School have dedicated themselves to The Wave Project, a surf therapy programme offering young people aged 8 to 21 the opportunity to participate in a specialised surf therapy session once a week for six weeks. Each young person is paired with a volunteer surf mentor and receives one-to-one support appropriate to their needs for the duration of the course.
But, as we all know, these brilliant projects take time, dedication, and money to run them. Each course they run, costs £3,000, the first one of 2022 will take place in March. There have been so many events held to raise the funds needed, including a sponsored run around East Head. Jake had reached £2,500 in sponsorship for the course to take place and needed that extra push to £3,000.
We are pleased to say Cathedral Wealth Management have donated £500 to help them reach their target.
